But I also have to reflect that it's easier to see the physical ZPD than the academic one unless a teacher keeps really good track of the students, & brings all those other factors into consideration. I also wonder if the studies that show how important lots of reading is touches on this. Reading is one thing students can do independently that boosts students so that teachers can see changing/improving levels of ZPD & help students achieve more. Oh, I'm not saying it exactly right, but you've inspired my thinking here!
